About the role
At Designated Medical, we are growing and looking for an experienced and highly organised Practice Manager to support our consultants and admin teams across a portfolio of private practices.
This fully remote role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of experience in private healthcare in senior role, who can confidently manage end-to-end clinic operations, build strong relationships, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day brings variety.
What you’ll be doing
As a Practice Manager, you’ll be the linchpin between consultants, patients, hospitals, and admin teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Practice Oversight & Coordination
- Managing the day-to-day running of private clinics across a portfolio of consultants
- Working closely with Medical PAs and Assistant Medical Administrators to ensure smooth operations
- Maintaining consultant schedules, clinic setup, and diary management across PMS and hospital systems
- Leading a team
- Patient Experience & Operational Excellence
- Acting as the first point of escalation for patient or clinic issues
- Monitoring patient journeys to ensure the highest standard of care and communication
- Supporting consultants with data insights, clinic performance reports, and regular reviews (Monthly)
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensuring compliance with relevant medical standards and policies
- Managing documentation and protocols in line with GDPR, CQC (where applicable), and private hospital standards
- Reporting & auditing
- Billing & Financial Admin
- Overseeing billing workflows and invoicing
- Liaising with finance teams, insurers, and patients to ensure prompt and accurate payments

- Collaborating with team leaders to improve internal systems and service delivery

Who we’re looking for
- At least 3+ years of experience as a Practice Manager or other senior in the private healthcare sector (essential)
- A calm, confident communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders with care and professionalism
- Strong understanding of private healthcare billing, PMS systems, and consultant workflows
- Ability to streamline processes
- Compliance and CQC experience is essential
- Business development
- Commercial strategy experience
- Management/leadership experience
- Knowledge of Semble, Carebit, DGL & Meditech
- Meticulous attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach
- Comfortable working autonomously while being a team player
- Comfortable collecting and analysing data
- Creating and managing key performance indicators
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems

Salary: Competitive, based on experience £30,000 – £33,000
