The boutique care provider, which owns eight homes, has taken over The Weir Nursing Home in Hereford from David Kingham.
Ashberry Healthcare, a boutique care provider focused on small community living, has announced the acquisition of The Weir Nursing Home in Hereford from David Kingham who had run the home for 30 years.
Financial terms have not been disclosed, though the acquisition was backed by Barclays.
The Weir is a Grade II-listed Georgian mansion and National Trust property, occupied on a 99-year lease. It is situated in extensive grounds which Ashberry emphasises in a press release will remain open to the public.
The firm has also said that all existing staff will remain with the home to ensure continuity of care for its 34 residents.
Ashberry Healthcare now looks after 270 residents in its eight locations across Staffordshire, Surrey, Cheshire, and Carmarthenshire.
The Weir is the second acquisition undertaken by Ashberry Healthcare since its management buyout in 2020. The first was Engelberg Care Home in Wolverhampton from Methodist Homes (MHA) in April last year.
