The two countries have agreed to collaborate on digital health, cyber security in the healthcare sector, education and training, as well as regulation.

Britain and India have signed an agreement to strengthen collaboration in healthcare and life sciences.

“This will strengthen the UK’s partnership of cooperation with India on healthcare innovation and health security,” said British health secretary Wes Streeting on the social media site X.

The partnership will focus on a number of fields including digital health, cyber security in the healthcare sector, education and training, as well as regulation.

On top of that, India and the UK plan to develop a joint work programme. Britain’s Department of Health and Social Care will work to encourage collaboration by organisations such as the UK medical royal colleges and private healthcare providers.

The agreement will run for five years and will then automatically extend for another five years unless cancelled.
