The Bath-based AI home care technology platform will use the funds to roll out its platform that connects caregivers and families nationally.
AI home care technology platform Gladys has raised £1.5 million seed funding. The funding round was led by venture capital firm Cornerstone with participation from Exceptional Ventures, Embryo Ventures, Ufi Ventures, Houghton Street Ventures, and the Conduit EIS Impact Fund.
Founded by former barrister George Robinson and repeat healthtech founder Alex Sorisi in 2023, Gladys directly connects caregivers and families. The Bath-based platform matches care seekers and those with support needs to local carers and helpers. Cutting out the middle man means that carers earn 65% more than they’d typically earn with a care agency.
“We all know that Britain’s care system is broken. Re-arranging deck-chairs on a sinking ship will not cut it. People are dying unnecessarily, and brilliant carers are undervalued and underpaid,” said Georgina Robinson, the firm’s chief executive and co-founder.
“With this new funding, Gladys will become a national offering, use AI back-office agents and invest in building a trusted network of local care communities across the UK,” she added.
Gladys claims to have already delivered care across a 20,000 km area and supported tens of thousands of hours of independent living.
