e18 Innovation partners with NHS Humber Health Partnership

e18 Innovation, recently acquired by Helsinki-based business automation and software developer Digital Workforce Services, has partnered with NHS Humber Health Partnership (HHP), one of the largest healthcare providers in the NHS.

It is made up of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

The firm will deliver an outpatient transformation plan via UiPath’s automation technology, hosted and maintained from DWF’s Outsmart Go platform. It is designed to free up more than 26,000 hours of staff time each year and generate around £1 million of financial savings over the three-year contract.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Humber Health Partnership on a programme that showcases the real, measurable value of automation in the NHS,” said e18 Innovation’s managing director Louise Wall.

One Ashford Hospital launches bariatric surgery service

One Ashford Hospital launches bariatric surgery service

The Phoenix Hospital Group’s One Ashford Hospital has launched a bariatric surgery and weight management service across Kent and the Southeast.

The service is led by Sanjoy Basu, Ravikrishna Mamidanna and Ameen Siddiqui.

With obesity levels continuing to rise and linked conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnoea becoming increasingly prevalent, One Ashford’s bariatric service provides a much-needed multidisciplinary approach. Alongside consultant-led care, patients will receive ongoing support from dietitians and clinical nurse specialists, ensuring a tailored and sustainable path to long-term health.

“Our aim is to provide patients with access to specialist advice, evidence-based treatments and ongoing support – all in a private and professional setting,” said Mamidanna.

Part of the Phoenix Hospital Group, One Ashford is one of six Phoenix Hospital facilities across Kent, Hertfordshire, Essex and Central London, including Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford and three centres in the Harley Street Health District.

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust’s Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre

Ground broken on £17.8m Bridgwater Diagnostic Centre

The ground has been broken at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust’s Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre.

The £17.8 million centre hopes to transform access to care in Bridgwater and across Somerset, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and outpatient services closer to home. It will be equipped with two CT scanners, two MRI scanners, four outpatient rooms, and two echocardiography/ultrasound suites – significantly boosting local diagnostic capacity.

Made possible through Ergéa’s managed service partnership with the Trust, patients will benefit from access to both routine and specialist cardiac and cancer imaging, as well as outpatient clinics.

“This important project is a clear example of how innovation and collaboration can come together to benefit patients in Bridgwater,” said Mark Graves, director of operations at Ergéa UK. “Working in partnership with the Trust, we are creating a modern, state-of-the-art diagnostic centre designed to transform patient experiences, improve outcomes, and help the NHS reduce waiting list backlogs for the community.”

Propel Healthtech West Yorkshire launches healthtech accelerator programme

Propel Healthtech West Yorkshire has launched an accelerator programme for healthtech entrepreneurs. The programme is free for successful applicants and provides business support, regulatory guidance, NHS networking and scaled growth advice.

The accelerator has recently been allocated £4.5 million in funding from the West Yorkshire Mayor’s Investment Zone. The funding is part of the region’s £160 million investment zone to support the growth of the health innovation and technology sector.

The funding granted to Propel Healthtech will enable it to expand and support more innovators. Over the next four years, the scheme intends to support hundreds of businesses, helping them to scale in the NHS, contribute to regional economic growth and develop life-changing innovations for patients.

All applicants should have an existing presence in the region or be willing to establish one. Successful organisations will receive a support package based on their businesses’ needs.
