The London-based equity firm has established the Senior Home Care Group, focused on the UK private homecare market, and dental operator Total Dental Ireland.

London-based private equity group Lonsdale Capital Partners has invested in two new healthcare buy-and-build platforms in the homecare and dental sectors.

Financial terms have not been disclosed.

It has backed Darren Kennedy and Kelly Fox to establish the Senior Home Care Group (SHCG), a buy-and-build and organic rollout platform focused on the UK private homecare market. Both Kennedy and Fox come from The Good Care Group where they were managing director and commercial operations director respectively.

The intention is that SHCG will grow both organically and through M&A initially in the home counties and surrounding areas.

Lonsdale has said that it plans to assist with platform development, support investment in the group head office function, and will be active on the company’s board.

Getting teeth into Ireland

Following its investment in Todays Dental – a dental corporate set up in 2022 to execute a rollout strategy of dental practice acquisitions across England and Wales – Lonsdale has also invested in Total Dental Ireland (TDI), a newly established dental operator in the Irish market.

Chief executive of the new Irish operator is Steven Lynch, a co-founder of Irish firm Medaccount.

TDI intends to offer what Lonsdale calls “an attractive model to non-corporate-owned dentists” by looking after their back office and administrative functions.

Lonsdale has a track record in executing buy-and-build and roll-out strategies in the healthcare and business services sectors via Todays Dental and Infrata, a provider of technical, commercial and demand advisory services.
