A leading patient review website has teamed up with the Private Healthcare Information Network to make collecting feedback for private hospitals easier.
Private hospitals will be able to submit patient satisfaction data more easily following a new partnership between Doctify and the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN).
The integration allows providers to collect feedback through Doctify’s platform and send it directly to PHIN, removing the need for separate systems.
The move is intended to help hospitals meet reporting requirements introduced under the Competition and Markets Authority’s Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order. The rules were introduced in 2014 to make private healthcare more transparent and give patients better information about where they receive treatment.
Doctify, a patient review platform, said the partnership will reduce administrative work and improve compliance with the requirements.
The company also expects response rates to increase, as patients will receive a single survey instead of multiple requests for feedback.
PHIN is the independent body responsible for publishing information on privately funded healthcare in the UK. It collects data from more than 650 hospitals and uses it to help patients compare providers based on factors such as patient experience and quality of care.
The partnership reinforces Doctify’s mission to improve patient access to healthcare and help people make “informed choices”, Stephanie Eltz, chief executive and co-founder of Doctify, said.
Ian Gargan, chief executive of PHIN, said the initiative will “reduce the burden on hospitals” and that PHIN will continue to explore ways to develop the partnership.
Suman Saha, chief strategy officer at Doctify, said the integration has been developed to remove duplication and allow providers to focus on patient care.
The tool is now available at no additional cost to hospitals already using Doctify’s platform.
