The TGP-backed senior healthcare services group has acquired the provider of professional home and community-based care services in Singapore and Hong Kong.
TGP-backed senior healthcare services group One Aged Care (OAC) has acquired Active Global Caregivers (Active Global), a provider of professional home and community-based care services in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Financial terms have not been disclosed.
OAC said that the acquisition expands its capabilities by broadening the range of care solutions available to seniors and their families. It has been open about plans to build a regional care platform that provides a unified continuum of care to meet the evolving needs of an ageing population.
“The acquisition of Active Global advances our vision of building a truly regional healthcare platform that supports seniors and their families with a broader range of care options,” said Richard Seow, chairman of One Aged Care. He added that OAC was continuing to look at acquisitions across Singapore, Hong Kong and the broader region.
Demographic transition
One Aged Care was established in March this year by alternative asset management firm TPG.
“The region’s demographic transition is accelerating demand for quality long-term care. A scaled and professionally managed healthcare group such as One Aged Care can support that demand, broadening access to care while leveraging technology to enhance care service offerings,” said Ganen Sarvananthan, managing partner and co-head of Asia for TPG, at the time.
One Aged Care brought together three established businesses, ECON Healthcare, Orange Valley Nursing Homes and Ambulance Medical Service (AMS), under a unified holding structure.
It is already one of the region’s largest senior care platforms, with 15 nursing home facilities and more than 2,400 beds across Singapore and Malaysia. It also operates a fleet of more than 50 ambulances and medical transport vehicles.
It said that it has advanced plans to open four additional nursing homes over the next year, increasing its total capacity to more than 3,800 beds.
“Demand for healthcare services and long-term care is growing, and we are considering how best to expand our capabilities responsibly,” said Ong Hui Ming, group chief executive of One Aged Care.
