Dominic Eden, Founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer at Carebit, gives the human story behind a healthcare movement.

In 2017, a software developer sat beside his father, a prostate cancer surgeon, trying to solve what seemed like a small problem: collecting patient-reported outcome measures more efficiently. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t revolutionary. But it was personal. That moment – quiet, technical and full of purpose – sparked the beginning of something much bigger: Carebit.

Born not from a business plan, but from a shared determination to make life easier for both doctors and patients, Carebit has evolved into a company with a genuine mission: to help clinicians reclaim their time, reduce unnecessary friction, and deliver exceptional care through the thoughtful use of technology.

Today, Carebit is powered by a passionate team of designers, engineers and healthcare experts – over 20 strong – who bring not just technical expertise, but a deep understanding of the day-to-day realities of private practice. We’ve walked the hospital corridors, sat in clinic rooms, and listened to the frustrations of the very people we build for.

We know that private practice can be chaotic. Admin piles up. Systems don’t talk to each other. Patient experiences feel fragmented. And too often, brilliant clinicians spend more time on paperwork than with the people who need them.

Carebit is changing that.

The vision evolves

From the first patient enquiry to final discharge, our platform automates workflows, simplifies communication, cuts costs, and gives clinicians their time back – without compromising quality. Every feature we build is grounded in one core belief: that technology should make healthcare feel more human, not less.

And now, as AI evolves, so does our vision. We’ve launched AI-powered transcription to remove the burden of note-taking and soon, we’ll introduce Cari – our AI assistant that can summarise consultations into structured notes and letters in seconds. These aren’t just gimmicks. They’re tools designed to liberate clinicians from their screens, so they can be fully present with their patients.

Because at Carebit, we’re not just building software. We’re building the future of private practice – one where the technology fades into the background, and what truly matters comes back into focus: the relationship between doctor and patient.

This is Carebit’s purpose. This is our movement. And this is only the beginning!
