The Trust has partnered with the University of Huddersfield to enable businesses, researchers and clinicians to develop and implement transformative healthcare solutions.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Huddersfield have signed a partnership agreement to help explore and share opportunities for innovation in health, wellbeing and technology.

The aim of this partnership, the university says, is to enable businesses, researchers and clinicians to develop and implement transformative healthcare solutions specifically in virtual and augmented reality, AI, diagnostics and imaging across West Yorkshire.

The agreement also covers the development of the forthcoming Health Tech Innovation Hub in the Old Medical School at Leeds General Infirmary. This collaborative space will bring together industry, clinicians and researchers to accelerate healthcare innovations.

It has said that it will prioritise NHS areas like infection and falls prevention.

“This collaboration represents a unique opportunity to share expertise, foster ground-breaking healthcare research, and make a lasting impact on the health and prosperity of the region and beyond,” said Richard Evans, head of business development and innovation at the Trust.
