The partnership between the digital pharmacy and the IT developer means that patients can pay online for private prescriptions and have them delivered the next day.

Pharmacy2U, Britain’s largest digital pharmacy, and Healthcode, an IT developer for the private healthcare sector, have partnered to deliver prescriptions more efficiently. Patients can now pay online for prescriptions and have them dispensed and delivered the next day.

“This partnership with Healthcode represents a significant leap forward in how we deliver patient care in the private healthcare sector,” said Gary Dannatt, chief of staff at Pharmacy2U.

“By integrating secure electronic prescriptions with our next-day delivery service, we are not only streamlining processes but also reinforcing our commitment to clinical safety and patient convenience. It’s a vital step in ensuring that patients can access the care they need quickly, safely, and with full control,” he continued.

In mid-March, the firm launched a new app and web platform that combines pharmacy, GP, NHS, vet, health and wellness services in one single platform.

As Healthcare Today reported in April, independent healthcare providers are anticipating strong growth in their private pay markets in the coming year.

Aside from strong stock availability, digital integration with the British National Formulary and the Dictionary of Medicines and Devices ensures patient safety, and Pharmacy2U’s dispensing process is fully aligned to General Pharmaceutical Council standards.
