The private foundation has opened a GP practice and health centre in Hartshill, Warwickshire, to improve access to healthcare and reduce patient wait times. 

The Sidhu Family Trust, a private foundation, has opened a new GP practice and health centre in Hartshill, Warwickshire, designed to improve access to healthcare and reduce patient wait times for local residents.

The family’s patriarch, Bal Sidhu, was inspired to open the centre following his almost four-decade-long career as a general practitioner.

“This health centre has been a labour of love for the community, and I’m incredibly proud to see it come to life,” he said. 

The Sidhu family has a track record of building residential properties, nursing homes and community developments. Their latest project, Hartshill Health Centre opened in October 2024 and is dedicated to delivering healthcare services for the local population, with modern, patient-friendly facilities. 

All services at the centre are provided as part of the NHS, ensuring free healthcare is accessible to the local community.

Built to high environmental standards 

The centre comprises a GP practice, community health services, and specialist consultant-led clinics. It is home to a new frailty division, which includes an ulcer and a heart failure clinic, and offers a base for South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust nurses. It also leases space to community health teams and the Primary Care Network, which coordinates care for 35,000 patients. 

This, it says, has enabled faster diagnoses and treatments, alleviating pressure on hospital waiting lists, while on-site orthopaedic specialists provide expert hip, knee and spinal care.

The project was funded with the support of Lloyds, which provided a seven-figure funding package through its Clean Growth Financing Initiative (CGFI). This enables businesses to invest in energy-efficient projects at preferential funding rates. 

Built to high environmental standards, the practice features five air-source heat pumps and uses no gas, earning it an A+ Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating.
